Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service will be hosting the launch event of FireBug’s ST15 misting branch on November 10.

The event will be held at Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service HQ and will include practical demonstrations and the opportunity for attendees to test the new branch.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service partnered with international company, FireBug Company Ltd in 2013 to develop and produce a branch that used misting technology.

The product was trialled, tested and developed in Staffordshire and was aptly named after the postcode of the Service’s headquarters, ST15, where the launch event is being held.

The ST15 encapsulates science in order to provide ultimate extinguishing and cooling with unrivalled levels of firefighter safety. Not only does the ST15 provide safety, rapid cooling and extinguishing it is also the most water efficient nozzle on the world market today, approximately 65% more efficient than other comparative nozzles.

Chief Fire Officer Peter Dartford said: “We’re extremely excited by the ST15 branch as we are confident that it will revolutionise how we tackle fires in the future. The feedback we are getting from our crews is very positive and we look forward to showcasing the product to our colleagues at the launch event.
