There was a vacancy in our fleet for a vehicle to attend smaller incidents to take the workload off the frontline fire appliances and access to areas hard to reach by conventional fire engines.

A small incident unit (SIU), a 4 x 4 vehicle fully kitted out with essential selection of fire and rescue products and technologies such as: FireBug BacPac, Hale 2 stage pump, 22m hose reel, capacity to lift water by submersible pump, Webber battery operated combi-tool, Milwake saw, small Anderson ladder, selection of Akron branches, full trauma bag and defib, Antaries electrical software, Akron roof monitor, 300litre water capacity under floor tank and more.

Why
This vehicle is able to rapidly attend smaller incidents and due to requiring 3 firemen it is also more cost effective for these particular types of fires. This meets all the demands of water deployment.

Customers comments
“The BacPac product was selected as we wanted a fire fighting product which would work remotely and effectively on small fires. This was an obvious choice for us to add to the overall product range chosen for our specialist SIU” Gary Taylor, GMFRS, Technical Officer, Operational Department.”
